Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a Nigerian Christian who was born on December 63 in Edo State. He was raised by his loving parents. He is the oldest child of elder T.E Oyakhilome and Angelina Oyakhilome. She was a pioneer of Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City and a matriarch of the Oyakhilome families, who passed her divine grace onto her son at an early age.

The whole family is actively involved with the LoveWorld ministry. His brother Reverend Ken is the highly regarded pastor of Christ Embassy's Houston, Texas Church and a member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which houses a variety of top gospel artists in the world.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his education at Edo College. After a scholarship was awarded to pursue a degree in the field of architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University), he was awarded an BSc degree in Architecture, and an honorary Doctor of Science. He also has an honorary doctorate in divinity from the Benson Idahosa University. He was at Ambrose Ali University when he was called by God to be a minister and serving the Lord.

While he was at university, the Man of God established what would later become one of the biggest churches in the world. He began an informal prayer group called "Youth for Christ" that would eventually develop into the most renowned organization of its kind on campus. It was also the foundation for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated, with millions of followers around the world.

The LoveWorld ministry was established under the direction of Pastor Chris. It's a pioneer in satellite television, Christian TV production and programming. LoveWorldSAT broadcast the first Christian television station from Africa to the rest, all the time via free-to-air networks. In the present, LoveWorld stations can be found on satellite and cable TV networks around the world.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence throughout Pastor Chris's homeland of Nigeria. The ministry operates two healing schools that are located in South Africa.

Music and Gospel Music form an integral element of worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for gospel music. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a passionate philanthropist and founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation international (COFI), which is a non profit, not-for-profit organization with the goal of helping the most vulnerable people and communities in the most deprived countries and regions across the globe.
